Student athletes ready to take next step

Lakehill held a special ceremony on April 3, to honor seniors Connor Alexander and Ben Palmer, who announced that they will continue their varsity athletic pursuits at the college level.

Alexander will row for the Varsity Club team at Lehigh University, while Palmer will join the Southern Methodist University’s Mustangs football team as a preferred walk-on.

Both Alexander and Palmer are Lakehill Lifers, having attended since kindergarten. Palmer led this year’s Warrior football team to the state playoffs, and was recognized with First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State honors. Alexander is a nationally-ranked member of Dallas United Crew, a team that encompasses rowers from across the city of Dallas.

As coaches, administrators, family and friends gathered to cheer them on, Palmer and Alexander personally thanked those who had supported them on their journeys as students and athletes in heartfelt statements.

“I have known these young men since they were in kindergarten,” said Headmaster Roger Perry. “I am impressed by their dedication to their academics and to their chosen sports. I am thrilled that they will be able to continue pursuing the sports they love at the college level.”

Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes from East Dallas.
