Baklava Shortbread

2 cups flour

1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Topping: 

1 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup chopped pistachios

3 tablespoons sugar

1/4 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon salt

Glaze:

4 tablespoons butter

1/3 cup honey

1 tablespoon packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Heat oven to 350 F. Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with foil. In a food processor, pulse base ingredients until a soft dough forms. Pat into the bottom of the baking pan. Bake until just tan, about 8 minutes. 

Mix topping ingredients until combined. Sprinkle evenly over baked base and return to the oven until browned, about 12 minutes. 

Combine glaze ingredients and heat in the microwave until butter is melted. Pour over baked topping and let stand until cool, about an hour. Cut into squares to serve.
