In celebration of National Pancake Day on Tuesday, Feb. 25, the Dallas 24 Hour Club is hosting a Pancake Special with their ginormous Hubcap Pancakes, which are the size of an actual hubcap and a staple in the 24 Hour’s history. For decades, the Hubcap Pancakes have been served with a dollop of both butter and peanut butter.
Located inside Dallas 24 Hour Club, The Hubcap Cafe not only serves delicious food such as burgers, sandwiches, salads and breakfast staples all day to the public, but it provides a space for friendship, support and camaraderie to its residents. Since 1969, The 24 has provided safe, sober transitional living for homeless men and women seeking a brand-new life away from drugs and alcohol. Tim Grigsby oversees the kitchen and the Chefs-in-Training are 24 Hour Club residents who are pursuing work in the restaurant industry. Regulars love the colossal Hubcap Pancakes not only because they are delicious, but also because they come with an amazing price point of $2!
The Pancake Party is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Your $5 donation will get you one colossal Hubcap Pancake and a cup of coffee to enjoy, and also provides a Hubcap Pancake meal for a resident of The 24.
On average, Dallas 24 Hour Club helps more than 600 people annually get off the streets, find employment and learn to live a sober life. The community can also support the efforts of The 24 by participating in their online fundraiser, which will run through Tuesday, Feb. 25. Funds raised will go to provide meals for residents.
