Chickens to take over local market

White Rock Farmers Market partners with Urban Chicken on Saturday, May 4 for the third annual Chicken Day! Flock to the feathered fiesta and get up close and personal with these domesticated friends and learn all about backyard chickens from Urban Chicken during a free Chicken 101 class, which starts at 10 a.m. 

Get hands-on with chicken crafts and enter to win a custom coop from Urban Chicken. Raffle tickets are available through May 4 for $5 or five for $20. Chicken Day precedes Moss Haven Elementary School’s annual “A Peep at the Coops” fundraiser on May 5.

Good Local Market at White Rock Farmer’s Market is held in the parking lot of 9150 Garland Rd. every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Good Local Markets (GLM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which supports local farmers, ranchers and artisans by providing a public space to sell fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, hand-crafted foods and other products while serving residents looking for healthy and locally sourced foods.
