The city council just unanimously approved $1.3M to be used toward a $7.4M redevelopment to revitalize a dilapidated shopping center, which will include El Rio Grande Latin Market and a full-service restaurant at John West and Buckner Blvd. This deal brings not only a substantial investment to a high-crime area, which will include a grocery store to serve a USDA defined food desert, but also provides more than 250 livable-wage jobs in a low-income census tract. This is the largest economic development partnership the City of Dallas has entered in District 7 in more than a decade! — Adam Bazaldua
