Lions make learning easier with glasses

The Dallas White Rock Lions Club has a pecan sale every year, and the profits are used to provide eyeglasses to needy schoolchildren. Imagine your child being placed in the front row of the class so he/she can see the blackboard, or being unable to read the schoolbooks because the print is too small, or being in a computer class but unable to see the screen on the computer. That is why the Lions Clubs raise funds each year to provide eyeglasses to those children who need glasses but cannot afford to buy them. Pecan orders are taken every year up to Thanksgiving Day for delivery in November. These top-of-the-line Texas Durhams pecans can be ordered by calling Lion L George Burke at 469-774-9454 or emailing [email protected]. Pecans can also be purchased at club meetings on the second or fourth Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at White Rock United Methodist Church, 1450 Old Gate Ln. in Dallas.
