Old school classics join ‘mocktails’ on new menu

By Amity Thomas

The highly anticipated Lochland’s Food and Spirits, owned and operated by restaurant veterans and Irish Pub owners Cheryl and Peter Kenny, opens on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Lake Highlands. The Kennys purchased the former veterinary clinic in 2019 and have been hands-on in the renovation of the 3,000-square-foot space. Cozy and casual, the new space features custom carpentry and pub tables along with an outdoor pet-friendly patio.

The menu features the most popular brunch and dinner dishes from the Capitol Pub and The Gin Mill menu, including steamed mussels, flatbreads, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, salads, burgers and sandwiches served alongside the best pint of Guinness in town.

The brunch menu includes house specialties such as the smoked salmon potato cakes, hangover sandwich and eggs Norwegian along with a boozy list of “Pick Me Up Cocktails” and non-alcoholic mocktails.

Lochland’s will feature old school classic cocktails, fine spirits, an extensive list of local craft and seasonal beers as well as a selection of wines available by the glass or bottle.

Cheryl and Peter also own the longest running Irish pub in Dallas — The Dubliner — on Greenville Avenue. Lochland’s Food and Spirits is located at 8518 Plano Road at the intersection of Lake Highlands Drive and Northwest Highway.
