LADY OF THE LAKE
Fifteen women dressed up as Our Lady of the Lake on Halloween night. With the full blue moon shining bright in the night sky, the ladies paddle boarded from the White Rock Lake boathouse to a dock near Garland Road. A woman named Anne Clark wrote the earliest published account of the legend of the Lady of White Rock Lake. Titled “The Ghost of White Rock,” Clark’s brief story was included in the Texas Folklore Society’s 1943 publication, Backwoods to Border. Congratulations, Allison Slomowitz, for submitting this eerie photo. You just won a $25 gift certificate to a favorite local restaurant.
