The third annual Dallas PorchFest is teaming with bands who play at Sons of Hermann Hall in the nearby Deep Ellum neighborhood for an awesome lineup of local music. The family friendly fall festival held on front porches and yards in the 4300 block of Junius Street is free to attend, and will feature at least 17 bands and more than 17 artists. Local artists will sell art, jewelry and a variety of crafts. Neighborhood restaurants, including Liberty Burger and The Proper Baking Co, will offer food. Wine and beer from breweries, such as Peticolas and Lakewood Brewing Co., will also be available from 1-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20. The Lakewood Library’s Story Time is at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Last year, more than 1,500 people attended Dallas PorchFest. Proceeds exceeding $18,000 paid for neighborhood tree plantings, new sidewalks, trash pickup and improvements to landmark Buckner Park. — Leigh Martin
