The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce announced via a Zoom meeting that the 2021 Chairman’s Award recipient is Mark Ramsey. The Chairman’s Award is given annually for outstanding service to the East Dallas community. The criteria for selection includes: professional experience, contributions to the chamber, community engagement and areas of leadership. This year’s recipient has exhibited all of those attributes. When something needed to be done with the Chamber, he stepped up and offered to help. His focus and dedication to the local business community of East Dallas is second to none. Ramsey has been chamber board member for several years and now serves as Vice Chair II. He also chairs the newly re-opened Live Local Committee and serves on the Economic Summit Committee. Ramsey is a co-founder of 100 Men of East Dallas, a member of Site-Based Decision Making, founder and president of the Bryan Adams Booster Club, and past president of Dallas Little League Baseball. If all of that were not enough, Ramsey is from the birthplace of Elvis Presley — Tupelo, Miss. — Deborah Brown
