The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas and the Ken Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund are teaming up to host “Referees and Racers,” an 18 hole golf tournament at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine on Sept. 24 to benefit each organization. Former MLB player Jose Guzman and Brady Tinker of DFW SportsBeat will be playing along as special guests.

Registration and breakfast start at 6:30 a.m. and game time is set for 8 a.m. Afterwards participants can enjoy lunch and prizes.

At first glance, the two organizations (GALT and KSMS) have little in common, but both organizations are helping athletes of a different sort. GALT helps retired racers find loving forever homes and KSMS helps soccer referees continue their education.
