William B. Travis Vanguard and Academy won First Place Overall in the 2018 Winston Science event held recently at The Winston School in Preston Hollow. In addition, more than 40 Travis students took home individual and team ribbons for first, second and third place. Winston Science is an annual two-weekend science competition that invites children from all throughout the greater Dallas area to participate in science, art and creative problem-solving activities. This event is a favorite for Travis’ science teachers Alison Evans and Richard Schulte, who both teach to the principle that science should be fun as this provides an opportunity for a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
