Exhibit rooted in historical collectives

The Pollock Gallery of the Division of Art at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts will present Let’s See Action, an exhibition featuring works by contemporary Japanese artists, from Feb. 3 to March 10. Let’s See Action focuses on a group of artists active within Japan and abroad during the past 10 years; however, the exhibition is rooted in, and in some cases directly influenced by, the practice of historical collectives such as Jikken Kobo/ Experimental Workshop (1951-58) and High Red Center (1963-64).

An opening is on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. The Pollock Gallery is located on the first floor of the Hughes-Trigg Student Center, 3140 Dyer St. on the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas. Admission is free.
