Monster makes reading available to all children

A local mom-owned business, Monster Yogurt, is now accepting children’s book donations. On March 2, in support of Read Across America, these books will be going to underserved children through elementary schools, homeless shelters such as Genesis Women Shelter and Anne’s Place drop off childcare center at Parkland Hospital. This Annual Children’s Book Drive was started by Monster Yogurt 11 years ago to collect gently used and new books. Mom entrepreneur group, Moms Out Marketing, joined Monster Yogurt in 2016 and expanded the local impact. Last year, Moms Out Marketing raised more than 2500 books. This year they hope to exceed last year in creating a positive mark for the neighborhood children. Customers can now drop off one or more book(s). With every book donated, customers get one ounce of free yogurt. It is a great way to get everyone involved and know the impact their contribution has on a local child. That is a sweet reward.
