Dallas Park and Recreation (DPR) is doing its annual city-wide tree plantings to replenish Dallas’ urban canopy. Following their plan at White Rock Lake Park, DPR staff, under the supervision of the head city forester, dug holes and instructed volunteers on proper planting to ensure a successful start. Trees were donated by the Texas Trees Foundation. Enthusiastic volunteers working in very muddy conditions were provided by nonprofits For the Love of the Lake and White Rock Lake Foundation. — Rebecca Wright
