The International Society had its annual Cinco de Mayo celebration at the home of Barbara Crow (pictured third from the left with Sharman Vesecky at the far left, welcoming the prizewinners) on Sunday, May 5, with 67 in attendance. Blue Mesa catered the food, and the entertainment was provided by the Flamenco Fever dancers. The Society’s focus is to contribute toward the scholarships of deserving students attending local learning institutions. Princess Igwe-Icho from Nigeria and Wiktor Marcinkiewicz from Poland were the winning students. Both are juniors at the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. — Pat Bear
