Around 100 volunteers from the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD), in partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation service crew, came together for AAGD’s annual Community Volunteer Day at White Rock Lake on Oct. 10. AAGD, a trade association representing the multifamily industry across Dallas and 10 surrounding counties, dedicated time to environmental preservation and community enhancement efforts at this beloved Dallas landmark. With the support of the Dallas Park and Recreation team, volunteers worked on a series of projects aimed at improving the natural beauty of White Rock Lake. These efforts included removing invasive species like privet and Johnson grass, cleaning up the shoreline and piers, underbrush removal, mulching around garden beds, painting ramps at Big Thicket and touching up bollards throughout the area. — Anna Nguyen
