Team quests for movement of hope, change

By Jennifer Hargrave

A team of 17 dedicated high school students from nine different schools across North Texas have united their efforts for a life-changing cause. Under the leadership of Evellyn Hargrave and Lyla Zicarelli, both juniors at the Episcopal School of Dallas, this group — Team Cure Quest — is rallying the community to help them raise more than $100,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Their campaign’s centerpiece event is the 2nd Annual Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival, taking place on February 23 at the iconic Granada Theater in Dallas. Featuring five incredible bands volunteering their time, the festival promises an evening of live music, community connection and heartfelt purpose.

With an expected turnout of more than 500 attendees, this event is a must-attend for Dallas music lovers and anyone who wants to make a difference. Last year, Lauren Goin, Lake Highlands High School Class of 2024, organized the first Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival. Due to the success of the event, Goin encouraged other LLS teams to apply to carry on this Festival.

Team Cure Quest is honored and excited to be carrying on this great legacy in an effort to help LLS carry out its mission to improve the lives of those impacted by blood cancer through research, support and advocacy.

This campaign is personal for Hargrave, who was inspired to join the fight against blood cancer after witnessing her childhood friend, Aubrey Tillery, survive leukemia. Tillery’s journey ignited Hargrave’s passion to contribute to the mission of LLS, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to eradicating blood cancers and improving the lives of patients and their families. Tillery was the Honored Hero for the LLS Student Visionary Campaign in 2024 and will be present at the Music Festival to cheer her friends on and be a source of inspiration for those struggling with a diagnosis of Leukemia.

“Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world where no one has to grow up losing a friend or loved one to cancer,” Hargrave said. “The Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival is more than a night of music — it’s a movement of hope and change. Team Cure Quest is proud to be a part of this movement.”
