As Earth Day nears, music and nature come together as the Lone Star Wind Orchestra (LSWO) presents This Beautiful Earth. Under the baton of LSWO music director Eugene Migliaro Corporon, the multimedia experience celebrates the breathtaking glory and ferocity of Niagara Falls alongside a collection of musical works inspired by the mysteries and magnificence of the natural environment. The concert, which falls during Dallas Arts Month, takes place Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District (2520 Flora St., 75201). Headlining the concert is Niagara Falls, written by multiple Grammy Award-winning composer Michael Daughtery, a graduate of the University of North Texas and former jazz pianist with the One O’Clock Lab Band. The stunning piece brings the majesty of Niagara Falls — often called “the eighth wonder of the world” — to life with vibrant visuals that dance across the auditorium’s wide screens in perfect harmony and in sync with the music. Tickets to This Beautiful Earth, which start at $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, may be purchased at lswo.com or at the door the day of the event. — Taylor Mayad Powell
