Cancer warriors prepare to pull their weight

Curing Kids Cancer announced the return of its third Annual Fire Truck Pull in Dallas, once again partnering with Southern Methodist University Athletics to rally the community in support of pediatric cancer research. The event is on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. on 5800 Ownby Dr. in Dallas. This exciting event features a unique tug-of-war-style challenge where teams compete to pull a 20,000-pound fire truck 50 feet in the fastest time possible. Each team pulls in honor of a child affected by cancer, with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Health Dallas. Teams of 10 will compete in categories including Fastest Team, Best Dressed and Top Fundraiser. Participants are encouraged to dress in fun costumes inspired by their cancer warrior’s favorite things. — Grainne Owen
