Festival Lights glows with cultural diversity

The Dallas Public Library is continuing its festive activities for Dallasites during the holiday season with the 8th Annual Festival of Lights on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4:30-7 p.m. The event transforms the night into a dazzling celebration of color, creativity and community. 

Cultural musical performances will take place at the Festival of Lights.

Hosted by the Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation at the Vickery Park Library, this beloved local tradition invites guests of all ages to an unforgettable evening filled with glowing art installations and light displays; live musical entertainment and performances from local schools; multicultural food from neighborhood restaurants; ceremonial tree lighting; hands-on activities for children and plenty of family fun and photo opportunities.

The Vickery Meadow Festival of Lights began in 2017 as a celebration of the vibrant cultural diversity within the Vickery community. Since its inception, the festival has grown significantly, attracting more than 3,000 attendees. The community-driven festival is organized by local nonprofit leaders and dedicated volunteers, with the mission of honoring Vickery’s diversity while providing the broader Dallas community with the opportunity to engage with and appreciate the rich cultural tapestry of Vickery Meadow.
