New ergs helps rowers expand reach

Dallas United Crew (DUC) has a lot to celebrate! Recently DUC was awarded the Concept2 Pulling Together Grant Award. Kate Smith, with Concept2 said: “Concept2 is thrilled to support Dallas United crew with a donation of RowErgs made possible by our Pulling Together program. Dallas United crew is creating pathways of opportunities for youth in the Dallas area and if we can even be a small part of that support system that is making that possible, we are honored to do so.” Since its inception in 2002, Dallas United has grown from a single program with a competitive high school rowing team to an urban water sports center and non-profit, offering six distinct programs in competitive and recreation oar and paddle sports. Student rowers come from 36 schools in the Dallas area, and DUC continues to focus on reaching out to schools and students. DUC has recently expanded into another South Dallas High School.
