Women who are seeking to be more involved in the East Dallas community, meet new friends and make a meaningful impact are invited to apply for the 2026–2027 service year with Lakewood Service League.

Lakewood Service League (LSL) brings together women from across East Dallas who share a love of volunteering, community involvement and friendship. Through a wide variety of service opportunities, members support local nonprofits and organizations that make a difference throughout East Dallas. In its 44-year history, LSL has made significant contributions to the community such as providing state-of-the-art playground equipment for Lakewood Park.
Beyond volunteering, the League offers a fun and welcoming social side as well. Members enjoy lunches, special events and gatherings throughout the year, creating friendships and connections that often last for years.
Whether helping at community events, supporting local charities or working alongside fellow members on service projects, LSL gives women the opportunity to contribute in ways that fit their interests, talents and schedules.
“LSL is such a rewarding way to connect with the community and with other women who care about East Dallas,” said Ann Williams, the outgoing 2025-2026 League president. “It’s a great mix of service, friendship, and fun.”
Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 service year. Applicants do not need to reside in Lakewood. Members also live in many of the surrounding neighborhoods such as Lochwood, Casa View, Little Forest Hills and Vickery Place, to name a few.
