Works represent discovery

Art on Main presents the debut solo exhibition of Dallas artist Kathy Krismer, on view June 9 through July 4. This exhibition introduces Krismer’s first collection of abstract paintings, offering viewers an opportunity to experience the emergence of a distinctive new artistic voice. 

Working with bold color, geometric forms and expressive mark-making, Krismer creates compositions that are both visually striking and deeply personal. Through vibrant color fields, dynamic contrasts and intuitive brushwork, her paintings explore balance, movement, connection and the emotional power of simplicity. 

Created through an instinctive and exploratory process, the collection transforms circles, rectangles, lines and gestures into visual conversations. Rich blues, vivid reds, warm golds and dramatic blacks interact across each composition, inviting viewers to slow down, engage their imagination and discover their own interpretations. 

“As a first collection, these works represent both a beginning and a discovery,” Andrea Lamarsaude, founder of Art on Main, said. 

“There is an honesty and confidence in Kathy’s work that draws viewers in. The paintings are bold and contemporary, yet they leave space for personal reflection and connection.” 

A native Texan and longtime Dallas resident, Krismer brings a lifetime of experiences to her artistic practice. Born in Houston, she spent much of her youth traveling throughout the Middle East before attending Texas Tech University, where she earned All-American honors in both basketball and diving and later pursued polo. Her experiences in travel, athletics and personal growth have helped shape the energy, rhythm and perspective found throughout her work. 

This exhibition marks a new chapter in her creative journey and reflects her passion for color, expression and exploration. 

Outside the studio, Kathy enjoys spending time with her beloved French Bulldog, Gronk, whose playful personality brings daily inspiration and joy. 

The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Saturday, June 13, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, view the complete collection and celebrate this exciting debut exhibition. Light refreshments will be served. DJ MISO will curate the music for the evening.
