Candlelight Tour part of 50th anniversary

The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA (LECPTA) is hosting the 50th Annual Lakewood Home Tour, taking place the weekend of November 7-8. A cherished tradition, the Home Tour offers guests a unique opportunity to step inside some of the most architecturally significant and beautifully preserved homes in Dallas — all while supporting the local community.

The tour kicks off with the unveiling of its first featured home: 7030 Tokalon Drive. Originally built in 1929 and meticulously preserved for nearly a century, the home showcases elegant formal rooms, intricate millwork, and beautifully restored bathrooms. The original homeowner and builder, Lester Lacy, was a pivotal figure in expanding Dallas, known for building Central Expressway, Woodrow Wilson High School and parts of Love Field Airport.

Nestled on more than an acre beneath a canopy of towering trees, the Tokalon estate embraces a French-Eclectic aesthetic. Rich in history yet reimagined for contemporary living, the home features many salvaged materials along with new updates like the striking chef’s kitchen complete with a bar enclave. The grounds are equally as captivating, featuring a resort-style pool, formal gardens, newly constructed guest house and tennis court, and an enchanting greenhouse tucked into the landscape.

“We are honored to celebrate 50 years of the Lakewood Home Tour giving back to our local community,” said Whitney Huffman, 2026 Home Tour Chair. “This remarkable residence exemplifies the enduring character and architectural legacy that have made Lakewood one of Dallas’ most beloved neighborhoods for over a century.”

This year’s Home Tour will be held November 7-8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with the beloved Candelight Tour — a progressive, gallery style event with light bites and wine pairings — taking place on November 7 from 7-9:30 p.m. Special activations to celebrate the Lakewood Home Tour’s golden anniversary will be announced.

Proceeds from the Home Tour benefit the Dallas ISD Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern, including Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and others. Funds raised ensure that LECPTA can continue its vital support for East Dallas public schools.

This year’s event is made possible by the generous support of Fifth Third Bank, the Presenting Sponsor of the 50th Annual Lakewood Home Tour. Fifth Third Bank’s continued partnership plays a key role in supporting the schools and families of East Dallas.

Individual tickets start at $50 and can be purchased now at lecpta.org/hometour.
