Art fair amplifies talented women

By Taylor Mayad

Seeking Texas-based women artists of all levels, Texas Vignette announced this week a call for entries for its fifth annual Vignette Art Fair, which will take place Nov. 3-4, at Dallas Market Hall. The popular two-day juried event exclusively features works by Texas women artists in an effort to promote exceptional yet under-represented regional talent.

The call-for-entries deadline is Aug. 5, and selected artists will be notified by Sept. 4.

The submission fee is $36. For qualifications/rules, details and instructions, go to texasvignette.org.

The Vignette Art Fair is among the only fully submission-based art fairs in the world that solely features the work of women artists where 100 percent of all sales go directly to the artists.

“We are proud to host one of Texas’ largest women’s art fairs and shine a light on dynamic female artists,” said Jessica Ingle, Texas Vignette Fair founder and president. “While male artists still dominate the art world, we hope our annual fair helps amplify the female presence and voice while uniting artists from around the state.”

Founded in 2017 by Ingle, Texas Vignette works to close the gender disparity gap as female artists are not represented in museum exhibitions, acquisitions and galleries nearly as often as their male counterparts.
