Back Country Barbeque Restaurant has been in business since 1975, and is located on Greenville Avenue just north of Park Lane. Earnest Griffith (pictured) has been the pitmaster at Back Country since its inception. Earnest has put in six to seven days a week for 45 years preparing smoked brisket, ribs, pork, etc. for Back Country clientele, as well as setting up catering for outside events all throughout Dallas. Earnest is approaching retirement age and with that on his mind, he received some bad news. Earnest has been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. His many friends and customers are working behind the scenes to get Earnest treatment from the best hospitals and doctors in this part of the country.
