Black ready to serve

White Rock Lake Weekly is proud to announce the graduation and commissioning of Ensign Preston Mitchell Black from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on May 24. Graduating with a bachelor of science degree in political science, Ensign Black will now serve as a Division Officer onboard the USS STERETT, stationed in San Diego, Calif. USS STERETT (DDG-104) is a Flight IIA Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. Ensign Black was born in Dallas and is a graduate of Highland Park High School. He is the son of Nancy Black, older brother to Max Black and nephew to Warren “Tad” Black and Dr. Suzanne Black, and her wife Melissa, and cousin to Katharyn Black. — From Staff Reports
