Book launch features local storyteller

Suzie Patterson and Shelia Huffman hosted a book launching and luncheon last week for local author Valda Dracopoulos to celebrate her first novel, “Woven Web.” Since childhood, Dracopoulos has loved writing stories and journaling them in notebooks. To her family and friends, she is a storyteller. “Woven Web” is a murder mystery set in small-town Texas, as well as Dallas, and follows teenage Rebecca Wilds’ pursuit of a killer. The book signing was held in the home of Wendell and Suzie Patterson with guests enjoying traditional tea sandwiches, salads, Nothing Bundt Cakes and a candy charcuterie of World-Famous Toffee and Texas Trash from Susie’s South Forty Confections.
