Burgers + Burgundy continues tradition

One of Dallas’ favorite fall culinary fundraisers is back. DIFFA Dallas’ 17th Annual Burgers + Burgundy returns Thursday, October 22, bringing together some of the city’s most celebrated chefs and restaurants for an evening of inventive burgers, wine and philanthropy hosted by longtime DIFFA Dallas supporter and renowned chef John Tesar.

Held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Glen Lawn at The Village Dallas, Burgers + Burgundy invites participating restaurants to put their own spin on the ultimate burger while guests sip wine, enjoy music by DJ Flip and help raise critical funds supporting HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout North Texas.

This year’s event will also officially kick off a milestone season for DIFFA Dallas, with the organization unveiling its 25th Anniversary Style Council and revealing the highly anticipated theme for the 2027 House of DIFFA during the evening.

The 2026 culinary lineup brings together restaurants and concepts spanning some of Dallas’ most recognizable names alongside independent favorites and emerging culinary talent.

A Burgers + Burgundy tradition, Tesar will once again prepare his acclaimed Ozersky Burger, created as a tribute to his late friend and renowned food writer Josh Ozersky. Known for its deliberate simplicity, the classic cheeseburger features just four components: a beef patty, thinly sliced red onions, American cheese and a soft white bun. “It’s an honor to have created this event and to help raise money for DIFFA and our community for the past 17 years,” Chef John Tesar said. 

Individual tickets are $100, with VIP tickets available for $150. VIP admission includes early entry beginning at 6:30 p.m., exclusive access to the afterparty and complimentary valet. 

Guests can also participate in a raffle featuring prizes and experiences from participating chefs and restaurants. Raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100.

Proceeds from Burgers + Burgundy directly support DIFFA Dallas’ work funding HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education and advocacy programs throughout North Texas.
