Council says: Flip your script

Steve Brown, Real Estate Editor of The Dallas Morning News, has been announced as a featured speaker for The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce (GEDCC) 18th  Annual Economic Summit.  This year’s summit will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Country Club (1912 Abrams Road, Dallas, TX 75214). 

CC Young is this year’s presenting sponsor.

The Chamber, comprised of East Dallas community leaders and advocates, is thrilled to have Brown return for this year’s economic summit. 

Brown says: “I look forward to sharing insights about why Dallas-Fort Worth has the top real estate market in the country. And so far, a pandemic and higher interest rates aren’t slowing things down. It’s the thousands of people moving to North Texas each year that keep the property market here moving.”

Combining the East Dallas community’s dedication to education, growth, the work force and development, this year’s Economic Summit will center around the theme “Flip Your Script: Finding Opportunity and Adventure Everywhere.”

This year’s keynote speaker will be the cofounder of Hari Mari — Lila Stewart. Hear from East Dallas City Council members on topics surrounding the economic vitality of the greater East Dallas community and this year’s theme.  

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the program begins promptly at 9 a.m. The morning will include a seated breakfast, followed by speaker introductions and Q&A sessions. Throughout the summit, participants will hear from event sponsors and have the opportunity to network with East Dallas professionals. 

The 2022 Economic Summit chair is Karen Hettrick with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.
