Dallas Works gives students opportunities

Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson and the All Stars Project, Inc. have officially launched the fifth year of the Dallas Works summer youth employment program. Since Mayor Johnson started the initiative in 2020, Dallas Works has provided hundreds of young people with valuable summer internship opportunities. This summer marks the second year that Mayor Johnson has partnered with the All Stars Project to administer the program. Internships for the 2026 Dallas Works program officially began on Monday, June 29. More than 250 students are participating, and several businesses and nonprofits are hosting and sponsoring interns. Leading up to the summer, Dallas Works reached more than 3,400 young people across Dallas ISD, several universities including Dallas College, the University of North Texas at Dallas, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Dallas Area Charter Schools, including KIPP Oak Cliff Academy, Uplift Heights Hills Prep, Uplift Williams Prep through 16 outreach events. More than 250 young people participated in skill-building workshops, which include communication coaching, resume-writing support and other opportunities to work alongside professionals.
