Food drive part of fall open house

Celebrate fall with art, music, yummy food, live music, a ukulele singalong, personalized poetry on demand and more. The Mix Creative Space and The Mix Kitchen, located in the Little Forest Hills neighborhood of East Dallas, will host a Fall Open House on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. The event will feature local writer, poet and artist Margo Miller. Miller (pictured above) writes personalized poems while you wait on a vintage Royal Firebird 1970s typewriter! The Mix is sponsoring a canned food drive at the event for the North Texas Food Bank in support of their mission to close the ever-growing hunger gap in North Texas. The Mix (located in the lower level of White Rock United Methodist Church) is at 9125 Diceman Dr. in Dallas. — Andrea Lamarsaude
