In Memoriam — Beverly Jean Walker

Beverly Jean Walker died on October 15, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1954, in Marlin, Texas, and spent her early years in Mart, Texas, surrounded by her loving farm family.

Her father, John; her mother, Shirley; and her brother, John Wesley, all predeceased her. Her parents instilled in Beverly a deep respect for religion and the importance of faith. John served as a deacon, and Shirley was a devoted choir member whose beautiful solo voice was truly operatic.

The family later moved to Dallas, where Beverly received her education. She devoted her career to serving others as a vocational nurse. She never married and spent her later years and retirement reading, tending flowers, caring for animals, appreciating beauty and reflecting on life.

Beverly’s lifelong goal was to remain independent until the end, and she achieved it. She was seriously ill for approximately 10 days and was able to remain at home, where she died.

During that time, she received compassionate care from the supervisors and aides of Homewatch CareGivers — North Dallas. Although Beverly had been ill, her death from heart-related complications was unexpected.

A private family burial will be held in the family plot in Marlin, the town of her birth.
