“We’ve had at least 100 people for each concert.” says Jessica Trevizo, general manager of the Bath House. “We’ve seen a really diverse audience come out to these programs.”

Tuesday’s show featured Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts graduate and local sensation Damoyee [duh-MOY-yay]. The talented performer has already dazzled the city with recent shows at Eric Nadel’s Cafe Momentum series and the One Time Only event at Sons of Hermann Hall.

For the Bath House’s summer finale, Damoyee performed her original songs alongside a blend of vintage jazz covers including “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole and “Centerpiece” by Lambert Hendricks and Ross. The show’s highlight featured Damoyee paying tribute to fellow Booker T. alumna Norah Jones, covering the award-winning song, “Don’t Know Why.”

While Damoyee brought jazz to the Bath House, the concert series featured a variety of other genres, including country rock with State Fair Records’ Squeeze Box Bandits and traditional mariachi with the all-female Mariachi Rosas Divinas.

Trevizo says that the center plans to make Lakefront Live a bi-annual event after seeing the community’s reception to it. Visit bathhouse.dallasculture.org.
