Jersey Mike’s Subs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has donated a record $584,000 from their 70 restaurants to Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer. This spectacular donation was the result of Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in March, culminating with the Day of Giving on March 29, when 100 percent of sales in the DFW Jersey Mike’s locations were donated to the pediatric cancer charity. A child is diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. every 32 minutes. For more than 40 years, Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer has worked relentlessly to develop programs that improve the life of a child being treated for cancer and make the journey better for the entire family, while constantly searching for improved treatments, positive outcomes and that elusive cure. The money raised from the Jersey Mike’s Month and Day of Giving will help WOKC continue to provide a Buddy Bag to every child being treated for pediatric cancer in DFW; it will help WOKC to continue to provide free, fun events for pediatric cancer patients and their families throughout the year; and it will help WOKC continue to fund novel pediatric cancer innovations that represent advancements in treatment outcomes.
