Believe me when I tell you: these brownies pack a wallop. Chocolate cravings don’t stand a chance.
8 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for pan
3 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 cup bittersweet (70%) chocolate baking wafers or chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350F. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment and butter the parchment.
In a bowl, melt butter and chocolate together; whisk until smooth. Whisk in sugars, then eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt.
Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with chocolate wafers. Bake until the center is set, about 45 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting into 1-inch squares.
