LETTER TO THE EDITOR: ‘Save our library!’

Future funding for the Skillman Southwestern branch of the Dallas Public Library is threatened.

It is located at 5707 Skillman St. at Southwestern Blvd, and is the cultural and educational center for the area. It is in District 9.

As a patron, I urge all residents of this district to express support to keep this vital branch open.

There will be virtual budget town hall meetings with members of the Dallas City Council. There will also be a virtual town hall meeting forDistrict 9 at 6 p.m. on August 28. I urge all residents to support the library branch in their neighborhood. ALL branches are vital to the cultural and educational enrichment of Dallas and need proper continued funding for the future. All OUR library branches are vital to make a great city.
