The Friends of the Dallas Public Library (FoDPL) is proud to name Denise McGovern (pictured) as the organization’s Executive Director. In this role, McGovern will guide strategy, strengthen community engagement and advocacy efforts on behalf of Dallas Public Library (DPL) and advance philanthropic support for the library system and the many residents it serves. She will begin in January of 2026. McGovern is well-positioned to lead FoDPL, having served as a member of the Board of Directors and Programs Committee Co-Chair since 2021 and, most recently, Vice Chair of the Board. In these positions, she has worked closely with DPL and FoDPL leadership to strengthen program funding, community engagement and advocacy across the city’s 28 branches and Central flagship. The year 2025 marked 75 years of the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. — Annie Chu
