Mother’s Day brunch helps Nexus

Nexus Recovery Center, a nonprofit that provides family-centered treatment to transform the lives of women and children impacted by substance use disorders (SUD), has selected Rachel Stacy (pictured above) to be the Chair of their 2024 Mothers’ Brunch & Bazaar. Now in its third year, the Auxiliary of Nexus’ premiere fundraiser will be held on Monday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a local country club. Stacy joins 2024 Honorary Co-Chairs Lili Luthand Laura Sahliyeh in hosting the event.

Stacy is a hard-touring, Texas-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been in recovery for 11 years. Mentored by Texas/Americana icon Ray Wylie Hubbard, Stacy uses her music and voice as a beacon of hope rather than dwelling on the past. “My goal now is to try to inspire other people — especially women — to continue in their endeavors with music and art. My mission is all about wanting to be a good example: not just for younger artists just starting, but for ones at that age — my age — where society might be telling them, ‘You’re too old for this, you need to quit.’ Because no, you don’t.”

The 2024 Mothers’ Brunch includes a delectable spread of fine foods, a raffle with fabulous prizes and moving stories of recovery. This year’s event also includes a Bazaar where guests will be able to purchase all their Mother’s Day presents. Guests should come ready to shop for an array of boutique gifts, from gorgeous fine jewelry to designer popcorn and everything in between. Vendors include Avery’s Savory Popcorn, Deborah Gaspar Jewelry Collection, Pharaō Jewelry, Toni’s Toffee, TX Brisket Biscuit, Artesanias Zahira Darwish and many more!

The Mothers’ Brunch & Bazaar is hosted by the Auxiliary of Nexus, an organization whose mission is to support and promote the interests of Nexus Recovery Center through volunteering and fundraising events. Transforming lives since 1971, Nexus Recovery Center provides comprehensive services, specializing in substance use disorder treatment and trauma-informed care for women and their children. Nexus’ mission is to serve as a community of hope and recovery for all women and their families who strive to live healthy, resilient lives.

Tickets to the 2024 Mothers’ Brunch & Bazaar are $250 per person, and sponsorship opportunities are available.
