Most of the time when people, especially children, think of going to court, it is in a negative situation. But for seventh grade social studies students at Hill Middle School, their views of court may have just changed. The students were able to questions judges and attorneys from the Dallas Bar Association in a kick off program to teach students about the Texas court system. The program is called The Taming Texas Judicial Civics and History Project. It is sponsored by the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society in cooperation with the State Bar of Texas Law-Related Education Department. The goal is to introduce the Texas judicial system to students in a positive light and allow them to talk one-on-one with individuals who play key roles in the court system. Local schools interested in participating should call 214-220-7484. — Josh Ault
