Park hosts official 250th birthday bash

Klyde Warren Park will host the City of Dallas’ official Independence Day Celebration, presented by Texas Capital, on the evening of Saturday, July 4, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The free, family-friendly event is expected to once again draw thousands to the heart of Downtown Dallas for an evening of live entertainment, patriotic programming and fireworks lighting up the Dallas skyline. This year’s celebration will take place on Independence Day itself — a rare occurrence for the Park’s annual tradition — as Dallas residents and visitors gather to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in the city’s town square. For the event, Olive Street will be temporarily closed to pedestrian traffic, creating a more walkable experience between the east and west sides of the Park. Klyde Warren Park will not host FIFA World Cup watch party programming on July 4. Klyde Warren Park is located at 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas, TX 75201. — Reeves Eddins
