Pets for Jets campaign to welcome furry friends

The Frontiers of Flight Museum, a Smithsonian-affiliated, aviation-focused museum near Dallas Love Field, is celebrating North Texas Giving Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Pets for Jets, a campaign in partnership with JSX that brings aviation and philanthropy together with four-legged companions. The event will give the community an opportunity to support the museum’s aerospace-STEM education programs, which serve more than 75,000 students annually, while enjoying a special experience with their canine co-pilots.

For one day only, well-behaved dogs on leashes will be welcome inside Frontiers of Flight Museum to explore the exhibits alongside their owners. For those who do not have four-legged copilots, Dallas Animal Services will be on-site with an informational table and adoptable dogs. Dogs and their owners will receive complimentary admission to the museum with a minimum $25 donation to the museum on North Texas Giving Day. The celebration also will feature pup cups and pet treats at Jetsetters, the museum’s recently opened coffee lounge, a themed pet photo booth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and STEM activities for visitors of all ages. Every dollar raised through the North Texas Giving Day campaign will support the Frontiers of Flight Museum’s aerospace-STEM education initiatives, including hands-on learning experiences, museum tours and interactive classroom sessions. The museum’s goal is to raise $100,000 to support this work. As part of the Pets for Jets campaign, donors can register their pets by submitting a photo with their gift. Participating pets will be featured as members of the Pets for Jets Flight Crew across the museum’s social channels and website, and donors will receive a digital “Official Co-pilot Certificate.”

The campaign also offers donors the chance to win two round-trip tickets from JSX for a trip with their favorite four-legged co-pilot. The Frontiers of Flight Museum is located at 6911 Lemmon Ave. in Dallas.
