Rae’s Hope, whose mission is to “Revive Communities One Child at a Time,” recently held its third annual Fitness for Life Rally & Ride Fun Day. The event was held at the Juanita J Craft Recreation Center, which has long been a partner of Rae’s Hope, providing gym space for volleyball practices and additional training space for the various programs offered by the organization. The participants are divided into teams based on their age groups and competed for prizes, with everyone getting to take home fitness equipment, and many also able to take home the numerous bikes, which had been donated for the event. Nearly 100 people attended, and Rae’s Hope is grateful to the volunteers and board members who came to help throughout the day. The goal is to continue to grow this event and the number of girls attending the programs each year. Rae’s Hope is committed to increasing the number of girls who stay in school, live healthy lives, achieve competency in critical life and financial literacy skills, and who will become contributors to successful communities. Rae’s Hope applies a multi-faceted approach that combines team sports with a rich curricula of life skills including healthy living, social skills, education, financial literacy and community service. The goal of these programs is to provide girls with a better vision of the future and help them achieve their dreams. If you’d like to support the work of Rae’s Hope, visit RaesHope.org. — Judy Helm
