Show spotlights women artists

By Taylor Mayad Powell

With a mission to promote, support and connect Texas women in the arts, Texas Vignette will present the seventh annual Vignette Art Fair this weekend (October 2-4) at its new Dallas Design District location On the Levee (1108 Quaker St., Dallas 75207). This year’s juried show — curated by longtime arts leader Maggie Adler — is free and open to the public Friday, Oct. 3, from noon-7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

From emerging to internationally acclaimed artists across the Lone Star State, Vignette Art Fair 2025 will feature more than 100 works by 55 women artists — spanning mixed media, sculptures, ceramics, paintings, printmaking, photography and more.

The Vignette Art Fair is unique in that it is fully submission-based, curated in an exhibition-style setting, and solely spotlights the work of women artists. Most significantly, 100 percent of all sale proceeds go directly to the artists.

Founded in 2017 by Jessica Ingle, Texas Vignette works to close the gender disparity gap as female artists continue to be underrepresented in museum exhibitions, acquisitions and galleries compared to their male counterparts. For more information, go to texasvignette.org.
