Sister team brings flavor to community

Lubbie’s Bagels just celebrated their one-year anniversary! Sisters Jen and Andrea Lubkin have created something special. Described by the owners as an artisanal bagel shop with a big personality, great things are happening for this local East Dallas business. The clever logo of Lubbie’s pays tribute to the legend that bagels were once thought of as protection against evil spirits and administrators to good luck and to living a long life. Doing their part to lessen the shop’s environmental footprint, Lubbie’s Bagels has taken many steps to create minimal waste, using reclaimed materials wherever possible. From small gestures —such as asking guests if disposable products are necessary to their order — to large efforts such as using tree alternate materials, Lubbie’s has proven they want to give back to the environment just as much as they do the community. A true scratch kitchen, making things fresh in house, Lubbie’s offers a variety of bagels on their menu. Using all organic ingredients, their menu balances the importance of a clear conscious and running a successful business. Lubbie’s is located at 1160 Peavy Rd. in Dallas. — Abigail Isett
