Resource Center is excited to kick off THRIVE with a Spring Fling on Friday, March 22. This springtime-themed event will take place at the Center’s community center located at 5750 Cedar Springs Road. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with free parking on the premises.
THRIVE, formerly known as Gray Pride, brings together lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) adults age 50 plus through social engagement, community involvement and support to promote a thriving community for adults. Activities include monthly mixers, weekly social activities and support groups.
Lilith, a current program member, said: “Being a bit of an introvert I’ve been inspired to come out of my shell by the good people of Gray Pride, the staff and participants alike. I look forward to Gray Pride becoming THRIVE, as the name reflects what the organization has helped me to do and I hope that others will avail themselves of all they have to offer.”
Guests of THRIVE’S Spring Fling are encouraged to wear their brightest spring attire for a free celebration filled with music, dancing, heavy hors’ d’oeuvres and an open bar. At the open bar guests can enjoy beer, wine and specialty cocktails themed just for the arrival of the season. It will be a night to remember.
