The 14th Good Local Markets season opened this past weekend with back-to-back markets in Little Forest Hills and Lakewood. The markets are special because organizers (pictured) work only with local vendors who come from within a 150-mile radius of Dallas and are carefully vetted to ensure they are local. The markets support local farms and have no resellers, to embrace the seasonal variety produced by local farming. Every item is handcrafted. There are families, people, and dreams behind each of the vendors who come. The next Good Local Market is in Lakewood on April 3 at the corner of Mockingbird Land and Abrams Road, next to TCBY.
