Rebuilding lives mission of new center

After serving the homeless since 2015, Bring the Light Ministries is expanding their reach to help those on the streets rebuild their lives. Bring the Light has seen tremendous growth in their ability to serve, and yet the need to serve the homeless has also grown. The recent acquisition of a building on Ferguson Road just north of I-30 in the Ferguson Road Initiative Zone, The Joshua Center will bring 70 beds and a faith-based 12-Step program designed to help those seeking to obtain and maintain their newly found sobriety while rebuilding their lives through education and job training. 

Sober since 2006, Founder and Pastor Earl Fitzsimmons spent years prior to his sobriety on the receiving end of homeless ministries and outreach organizations. His experience and education in drug and alcohol recovery have given him unique expertise to help build real solutions for those struggling with homelessness and addiction.

Homelessness may not be a new problem to Dallas County, but it is a growing one. Despite hard work from more than half a dozen organizations, there is still a gap in equipping them to take care of themselves and truly rebuild their lives. This gap is where The Joshua Center comes in. Creating a community that serves its neighbors and allows people to become the upstanding contributing citizens that they long to be is the mission of The Joshua Center.
