The opening night reception of the 2024 Dia de los Muertos exhibit at the Bath House Cultural Center welcomed the family of Dallas-based actress Jeanne Evans to the event. Long-time family friend and artist Angie Bolling created an alter in tribute to Evans, who died earlier this year. The packed crowd at the annual event strolled through the Bath House galleries admiring colorful alters, paintings and sculptures designed to invoke memories of lost loved ones. A variety of Mexican musicians played throughout the evening in the center’s theater as women dressed in traditional Dia de los Muertos gowns, hats and makeup strolled through the exhibit interacting with the crowd. — Nancy Black
